As a nation we are leading increasingly sedentary lifestyles. The importance of providing free, accessible, outdoor fitness opportunities which will engage children from 14 through to senior citizens cannot be underestimated. Such provision gives everyone the tools to make real physical and mental health and fitness gains in a positive outdoor environment. This in turn could play a vital role in reducing the pressure on our health service.
It’s not surprising then that a company whose Directors hold 13 Commonwealth Games medals between them have ventured into the outdoor fitness arena, launching their new brand ‘Jupiter Sport’. The Directors of Jupiter Play, an established company in the outdoor play industry, have all competed for Scotland at numerous Commonwealth Fencing Championships and so are well- versed on the benefits of keeping a fit body and mind. It is with this first-hand experience and a thorough understanding of the requirements of outdoor provision for children and adults that they have sourced one of the finest outdoor fitness ranges in the world.
Jupiter Sport’s manufacturer, Denfit, has specialised in outdoor fitness design for over 12 years. Their focus: functionality with exceptional form. The comprehensive range is split into 5 offerings for different settings and fitness applications – some work with the users own body weight to provide resistance (suitable for public parks), others have fixed weights attached (suitable for closed sites such as prisons and juvenile institutions). Some are available as stand-alone units; others work best as a set configuration. Other options still offer fitness trail-style apparatus designed to withstand the rigours of free-access use. With fixing options and built in floorings, the almost endless choices make this a truly versatile range. Whatever the setting or product choices; all are designed for durability and minimum maintenance.
The UrbanGym range, for example, designed for public park settings, is independently tested by TUV to both the European Standard for play (EN1176) and for fitness equipment (EN957). It is manufactured in steel and powder coated for longevity. It comes in Jupiter green as standard but like everything about this range, there are choices.
Jupiter Sport is to be launched at the IOG Saltex Exhibition, Stand B17, held at Windsor Racecourse, from 6-8th September 2011. Items from SportPoint, FitPoint and Urban Gym ranges will be on display on Stand B17 for people to test out and compare with other offerings in the market.
Paul Hoenigmann, 5-times Commonwealth Medal Winner and Managing Director of Jupiter Play states: “This is not a departure from what we have done before, merely an augmentation of our client offering and recognition that the nation’s requirements for outdoor play and leisure are changing. Coming from a sports background, the introduction of this range is close to my heart and I am passionate about ensuring that we continue to offer our clients the highest standard of products in both our play and sports brands. I believe the Urban Gym Range does this.”
