Playfair Exhibition 2009

For the second year running Playfair, the only play focussed exhibition for members of the API, was held at Stoneleigh Park in Coventry.

This was the ideal opportunity for Jupiter to unveil the stunning new range of handcrafted play equipment from FHS Holztechnik- and boy did it create a stir!! The striking Robinia wood attracted a lot of attention and stood out as a bright, natural, untreated alternative to traditional timber products.

The stand combined musical play, inclusive play and challenging play, demonstrating the diverse use of Robinia wood and the sheer diameter of the robust posts.

Alongside the exhibition the API runs a series of seminars featuring speakers from leading play authorities. One such seminar, by Adam White of Groundwork, on Designing, Managing and Maintaining Playful Landscapes praised Jupiter Play and highlighted that wooden play equipment can be sustainable if the correct manufacturer is selected.

This was also the first time the Jupiter team from Scotland and the new team for England & Wales were brought together at an event and as a result of the combined hard work, many items of FHS equipment have since been specified throughout the UK.
