The considerable budget of this project allowed for us to create a large iconic multiplay unit which has both DDA compliant access as well as a variety of play elements included.
The unit comprises of sand play, climbing nets, a tunnel, a double arm slide, a curved tower slide as well as a variety of access points, encouraging users of all capabilities to get involved.
In addition to the central unit, other items such as a hammock and net combination and a ramp climber create play elements at ground level as well as those high up on the unit itself.
The site is located in Gateshead on an exposed hill within an area of housing. The unit, with its impressive tall towers and painted forked posts, can be seen from across the River Tyne.
